So how did Cards Against Humanity (and their passion for charity) come to be? Eight Chicago-area high school friends invented the game when they were back home on their holiday break from college in 2009. The friends had always invented fun board games to play together but this one, they all knew, was something special. And after showing the card game to their friends and families, they knew it was going to be a hit.

Since launching the game back in 2010 with the help of a Kickstarter campaign and a supportive network of friends and family, the creators have worked hard to foster a committed community of users and create a beloved brand. And, better yet, they have worked hard on their creative promotions that give back to humanity in surprising and super awesome ways.

Since their launch, Cards Against Humanity has offered special promotional card packs that celebrate the holidays, the current landscape of politics, fantasy-themed packs, even a pack dedicated to the dirty jokes of legendary comic George Carlin. But the most important of all their promotions is the packs they offer that go to charity. For example, Cards Against Humanity offered science themed packs with proceeds going to scholarships for women interested in entering science and math related fields.
