By far the most mind boggling in the “you should know better” category are guns. 2,653 firearms were found in carry-on bags in 2015 – that’s an average of seven per day. Of those, 80% were loaded. Guns are found in carry-on bags all over this great country of ours but the majority of them are found in airports in … TEXAS!

But what’s fun about the TSA’s IG is they show us all the other wacky stuff they find. The things pictured above are some of the prohibited items found by TSA in the past few years, all of which are on display at the Will Rogers World Airport (OKC) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. What follows is a selection of our personal favorite TSA finds … you’re not going to believe what some people try to slide through in those gray plastic bins.

“We’re pretty sure this isn’t a letter opener,” TSA said on IG. “A bladed dragon claw perhaps??? Whatever it is, it should be packed in checked baggage. It was discovered in a carry-on bag at Atlanta (ATL).”
