No matter what you think of their effectiveness and customer service, the TSA has to deal with a lot of loonies on a daily basis. Some travelers make honest mistakes and – oops! – leave their loaded guns in their sneakers, some are truly unclear about what’s okay and what’s not. Others, though, are trying to get away with some shit. The TSA’s IG is updated by someone at the agency with a sense of humor (thank goodness), but they’re also trying to educate and make a point.

Knives abound. So many types, it boggles the mind. Many thousands of knives are confiscated every year at airports across the U.S. Most are found in pockets, purses or on key chains, but many are found hidden in some very clever (and some not-so-clever) places … and hiding knives, btw, gets you a big fine and maybe even a little time in the pokey.

Not sure why, but many people feel the need to travel with grenades. Most are inert but, troublingly, many are not. And regardless, the TSA has to hold up the whole freakin’ process for everyone until a munitions expert can come check it out. #flightdelay
